Only The Scream and Juju have the go ahead for the deluxe double editions at present, the rest will be single CDs with three to four bonus tracks which is likely to include non album singles.   MOJO ICON PRESS RELEASE 18/06/05

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE - MOJO ICON AWARD

SIOUXSIE SIOUX WINS ‘MOJO ICON’ AWARD AT MAGAZINE AWARDS IN LONDON.

SHE WILL BE SIGNING COPIES OF HER NEW DVD “DREAMSHOW” AT HMV OXFORD STREET ON THE DAY OF RELEASE – JULY 25TH.

Siouxsie Sioux won the Icon award at last night’s Mojo magazine awards in London. She was presented with the award by U2’s The Edge. Siouxsie, a hugely popular choice with fellow musicians in the audience, beat stiff competition for the award from the likes of David Bowie, John Lydon, Kate Bush and Marc Bolan. The award, one of the most prestigious of the night, was voted for by Mojo readers.

Mojo editor Phil Alexander said of Siouxsie today:

“Siouxsie’s contribution to modern music is absolutely immense, as is that of the Banshees – in terms of sound, image and their whole general aesthetic. But Siouxsie was the band’s totem. Of course she was the female face of punk but, above and beyond her ability to challenge sexual stereotypes, it’s her understanding of melody and music that is remarkable. It’s these qualities that have inspired so many people. That’s what has allowed her to remain such a constant musical force. She has possibly attained iconic status through her image, but it’s her music – and the humanity in it – that people connect with.”

Siouxsie has just confirmed that she will sign copies of “Dreamshow”, the live DVD filmed at her first ever solo shows at the Royal Festival Hall last year, on the day of the DVD release – July 25th.

Siouxsie will sign copies at HMV on London’s Oxford St at 6pm on July 25th.

She is currently working on her first ever solo album.

  SIOUX RECORDS REISSUES 27/04/05

The majority of the Sioux Records catalogue is to be re-released. This is due to a change in distributor. Anima Animus is scheduled for release on 16/05/05, and can be pre-ordered on Amazon.

  BANSHEES REMASTERS 26/04/05

The Banshees' albums are to be remastered in batches of four. The Scream, Join Hands, Kaleidoscope and Juju will be the first releases and are currently being given an overhaul. It's likely that they will be deluxe double CD editions with bonus tracks and rarities. There is no plan to remaster the Once/Twice Upon A Time collections. Orphan singles will be included on the nearest parent album.

The Glove's Blue Sunshine will fit into The Cure's remasters timeline as opposed to The Banshees timeline and it's hoped this will also be a double CD.

  BBC SESSIONS 30/03/05

This is a draft of the proposed artwork for Voices (On The Air) The BBC Sessions. Unfortunately it looks increasingly like there will be no separate release of the BBC Sessions. It is possible they may be included with the Remasters

  BASEMENT JAXX DVD 02/03/05

Basement Jaxx will be releasing a singles collection at the end of March. Strangely it doesn't include 'Cish Cash', the collaboration with Siouxsie. However there will be an accompanying DVD release on March 21st which DOES include the promo video for 'Cish Cash'. Although the video doesn't feature Siouxsie, still a nice thing to add to your collections.  BUY IT NOW
